I do believe focusing on your customers is a good thing,  Customers are how you make your business a success.  Without the customers, sales would go down, especially in a retail business or a business that only can make it off of customers.  I don’t believe it compromises their strategic success.  Many companies are solely based off of customer experience without it-it causes the customers to shop at their competitive stores making them lose money and possibly even going out of business.  Changes could be made to allow customers to use coupons, set aside a day to receive a certain percentage off and perhaps even store discounts.
