focusing particularly on character types. Analyze the film’s use of archetypes. To what extent does it replicate, reinvent, or otherwise complicate archetypal characters?

Below is an example::::::::

I chose the Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics because I’ve always loved the little mermaid and was always interested in the story. I always thought The Little Mermaid was this nice storyline where she marries her Prince Charming, but come to realize I remember my mom reading me this Grimm version when I was little. This animation is Japanese and it was also turned into a book, so while growing up I got both sides where one had a happy ending and got everything she wanted as to where the other didn’t. The Little Mermaid was infatuated with the upper world and wanted to get to know more and eventually fell in love with the prince she had seen on board, she eventually rescues him, but another woman helps him back to the castle. The Little Mermaid trades her tail for legs but has to give up her voice and eventually gets to be with the prince but come to find out he had gotten married to the woman who helped him get back to shore. She’s devastated by this and her sisters come to help her by cutting their hair and bargaining with the sea witch to let her sister back if she killed the prince. The Little Mermaid couldn’t do such an act and threw herself in the water and gained a soul for her good acts. This Grimm’s Tale is to sort of show to be careful who you give your love to, the prince mentioned how beautiful the little mermaid was, but was married to the other woman. It just goes to show be careful what you wish for and doesn’t give your love out so / be careful.
