Ask the person questions about a topic in which you think he or she is interested. Pay particular attention to being patient, calm, and nonreactive. After the interview, summarize what you  learned.

  • What were the difficulties you encountered using reflective listening skills?
  • How did this conversation compare with previous conversations you had with this person?
  • What reflective listening skills were most difficult to use and why?
