Scenario: Your district, under the direction of the local school board and superintendent, is in the process of initiating a major technology overhaul that will impact budget designations, curriculum, and teacher development. As part of this process the superintendent has asked each school’s administrative team to develop a comprehensive proposal that outlines their vision of the future and includes any policy or funding issues that conflict with the success of their recommendation. Each school is expected to present their proposal to the full Board and community at a designated Board of Education Meeting. As a member of your school’s leadership team and a respected teacher leader, your principal has you to take on this challenge.

The final paper will be the development of a proposal that will outline your recommendation for a comprehensive 1:1 technology adoption and curriculum initiative to include any needed teacher development. Your proposal should be based upon recognized scientific research and best practices that focus on existing challenges and long term goals. The Final Paper Draft should address the following:

  • Outline an introduction to the proposal, including areas that are addressed and your recommendations (this introduction is similar to an abstract portion of a formal paper).
  • Describe the historical perspective of your district or school setting. Your description should include both text and supporting graphics that include, but are not limited to
    • No Child Left Behind (NCLB) identified demographics.
    • Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) status.
    • Budget breakdowns, including funding sources (federal, state, and local) and expenditures.
  • Discuss your formal recommendation for the 1:1 adoption developed in link which is attached, that includes, but is not limited to
    • Tool selection (Bring Your Own Device [BYOD] or purchase).
    • Roll out time table and estimated total cost per year.
    • Identification and estimation of supportive costs related to your tool selection (software, support, professional development, etc.) per year.
    • Existing policy conflicts and new policy recommendations.
    • Identification and description of any model districts.
  • Explain how your recommendation affects, and will potentially impact, curriculum development, text book adoption, and professional development.
  • Summarize your proposal.

Paper should be 8 to 10 pages in length (not including the title and reference pages) with min 8 scholarly sources and in APA format
