Requirements

  • Describe potential obstacles in your own community to providing health care services related to community crises.
  • Explain current practices in your own community for providing health care services related to community crises.
  • Recommend an evidence-based nursing response for providing health care services related to community crises.
    • Your nursing response does not need to be overly detailed. In real life, a nursing response would be the work of a committee or another group, based on the research and recommendations of others.
    • Your nursing response should provide foundational research and recommendations based on evidence. Consider things such as triage points, communication methods, caring for staff, providing basic necessities such as food and water, use of other organizations for shelter, and so on.

Use the Notes section of each PowerPoint slide to expand your points and provide supporting evidence.

The 2018 tax law changes are apparently having an impact on how companies are financing their assets. There is a WSJ article attached that provides background and examples of how some companies are dealing with the tax law changes.Pick a firm you are interested in (or one where you can find some data) and see research the internet for news on the capital structure for the firm. The WSJ attached article highlights what several companies have done and why. Basically, I want you to add to the body of examples.Which company did you choose? What was the change to the capital structure (going out for more debt, paying off debt, shifting debt to overseas subsidiaries…..)? What reasons did the firm state for the change, if any? Once you find the news article, go to the company’s website and look for press releases from about that time, is there any explanation given for the firm’s activities in the capital market?There isn’t a right or wrong answer, but your discussion needs to be on-point. Having an example such as “XYZ Co. sold $500mm in newbonds” and no discussion or additional detail is NOT a good post. I want details on the company’s possible strategy behind the activity. I realize that you might need to make some assumptions, and if you have some backup for those assumptions related to the underlying thinking, that’s fine. For example, you go to the XYZ Co. website and find a press release that indicates the firm decided to have their foreign subsidiary go for the debt, which means the interest payments would be paid by the overseas subsidiary, not affecting the total amount of interest paid by the US home firm.  Alternatively,you might go to the firm’s 2018 10K and look at how the total interest amount relates to the firm’s EBITDA (see the WSJ article for what this means and why it is important). You need to have some support for your presumed “thinking behind the company decision”.Have some fun with this one.

Assignment 2: Cloud Services. A 3-5 page APA original paper in MS-Word describing your approach to using Cloud services in your (imaginary) Data Analytics firm.  You can choose to use Cloud services or not to use Cloud services.  If you choose to use Cloud services your choices include things like SAAS, PAAS, IAAS, DBAAS, Desktop As a service, and others, and you must name your expected CSP. 

If you choose to NOT use cloud services you must state the hardware and software you expect to acquire, what you think it will cost, whom will install and maintain it, how many employees you will hire to support it, and what data center you will rent/build to house it, plus any DR considerations.

Observation is a cornerstone of anthropology. This activity will provide you with experience in conducting structured observations and analyzing what you have seen. It will give you first-hand experience in conducting participant observation, a fundamental tool of anthropologists everywhere.

1.  Choose a public, social space (restaurant, park, shopping mall, museum exhibit, etc.) and observe the site for half an hour. (Note the day and time of your observation.) 

2.  Observe how people use the space. Sketch where people stand, sit, or congregate—and use arrows to indicate people’s changing positions and paths. Sketch the space and use symbols for physical objects and doorways, entrances and exits. 

3.  Note which people are present by genders, ages, and ethnicities and occupations (if possible). Use symbols (triangles, circles) to indicate genders and size to indicate age. 

4.  Write up a descriptive narrative/analysis of what you have observed about who is present in your chosen space—and who is missing.

5.  Based on your observations, what more would you like to know to better understandwhat you have observed?

6.  Draft two to three follow-up questions you would have liked to ask the people you observed.

What to Submit:

In this discussion we will apply those concepts to the review and critique of a research article. For information on how to critique a research article, see the Coughlan et al. (2007) and UIS (n.d.) guides listed in the Required Readings for this week.

· Data Analysis – Summarize the statistical tests conducted, the results obtained from each test, and conclusions regarding the hypotheses.

Week 7B

For this assignment, you need to visit the National Archives Experience. Historians typically use two types of materials, secondary source, and primary source documents. Secondary sources are typically books and articles written on a particular historical event, well after the fact. Primary source documents are usually generated by first-hand participants. Good historians rely heavily on original materials created at the time of the event. For this reason, historians spend a good deal of time at the archives. There are many types of archives, but by far, the largest in the United States, is the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

The National Archives contains more than 10 billion documents, and they have collected over 1,200 of those in the National Archives Experience. After you have opened the above link, click on “continue” in the bottom right corner. This will take you to the Experience site. Here, you can select a topic, and collect documents relevant to that aspect of history. The system will then allow you to create posters, or even a video.

There are a number of ways that you can complete this assignment. Once you have collected your documents, you can create three posters or a PowerPoint, Naturally, you will need some other information, and you can gather that through the internet, or other books and articles. It is best to avoid using textbooks.

1.     Poster Option:

a.     Must include a minimum of one relevant image or document for each poster.

b.     Each poster must include a narrative that explains the historical significance.

2.PowerPoint Presentation: (The National Archives will not allow you to download their images.  To complete the PowerPoint, you will need to collect your images from the internet.  Be sure to cite all images collected elsewhere.)
