THE USE OF BORROWED IDEAS (THOSE NOT YOUR OWN) IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED. DO NOT GOOGLE, SEARCH FOR, OR USE “BORROWED” IDEAS (INCLUDING THOSE FROM PREVIOUS AND CURRENT STUDENTS) IN DEVELOPING ANY PART OF YOUR DB 1 RESPONSE.

DB 2 Directions:

Write AT LEAST TWO WELL DEVELOPED PARAGRAPHS FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING TOPICS: (Honesty, Independence, and Happiness). Two well developed paragraphs for each topic equals a total of six paragraphs. Label the start of each of your paragraph groupings using the topic word prompts above. When you are ready, come back to this (DB 2) forum, then copy and paste all of your paragraph responses as a single DB post.

Paragraphs Defined:

A paragraph is a more deeply developed, fleshed out response about the topic. Paragraphs differ from thesis statements in that thesis statements ONLY TELL (conclusion and significance about the topic); paragraphs explain. There can be more than one paragraph in support of any topic but each paragraph has a singular focused main idea, adequate support of the main idea, and a conclusion.

Main ideas are narrowly focused sentences about the topic; adequate support means deeply developed thinking that explains (fleshes out) HOW WHY or in WHAT way ideas and or examples connect to (support) your topic; conclusion sentences wrap up the paragraph’s main idea. Use your conclusion from the first paragraph to transition (connect) to the second paragraph.

THE USE OF BORROWED IDEAS (THOSE NOT YOUR OWN) IN DEVELOPING YOUR PARAGRAPHS IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED. This result can be entirely avoided simply by DOING YOUR OWN WORK. DO NOT GOOGLE, SEARCH FOR, OR USE “BORROWED” IDEAS (INCLUDING THOSE FROM PREVIOUS AND CURRENT STUDENTS) IN DEVELOPING ANY PART OF YOUR DB 2 RESPONSE.
