A situation that I could apply feminist ethical theory to is just the other day my friend and I had a discussion on her being able to work as being a woman. She mentioned that she was raised that me were the providers in the household. Meaning that the men were the ones who went out to work and the women stayed home and took care of the children and other house duties. She went on to say how she wanted to work to help support he husband and family. She mentioned how as children her mom being a woman would wash clothes, clean the house, iron, prepare dinner and assure that her and her sisters were taken care of. All her dad had to do was work and bring home an income. With this I totally disagree because us as women can do the job better thank some men. I do think that in this day and time it is good o have two incomes instead of one. As we both understood that this was something that they her and her husband was raised on, its just not working within that household. It also is a discrimination towards her as a woman. She should be able to go out and provide for her and her family as well. It should not be up to her husband to carry all the weight to bring home the money. This situation alone brings forth many different emotions and problems. I suggested that she and her husband rethink this tradition and do what is best for them and their family.
