Personal Learning Retrospective Paper, psychology homework help

GUIDELINES: In this paper, you will use yourself as the focus for your paper. Reflecting on your own experiences as a learner, and using material presented in the course and in your readings, analyze your own history using the theories and concepts we have covered this semester. You should only write about what you feel comfortable sharing! Focus on the characteristics, events, and circumstances that shaped you as a learner and continue to have an impact on you to this day. In addition, you will summarize the major theories and concepts related to each topic area. Your paper should be creative, insightful, and integrate material from the course. Simple regurgitation of course material is not acceptable and will result in no bonus points being awarded. Papers that apply course content in new and novel ways, especially those that make me think about your topic in a different way, will receive higher scores. Papers must be between 1,500 and 1,700 words long, not including title page or references. You must use proper APA 6 th edition format including cover page, in-text citations, reference list, and headings. You may not have any direct quotes in the paper and must avoid plagiarism at all costs. Papers that contain any plagiarism at all will automatically receive a score of zero and cannot be resubmitted. Papers must be uploaded to Blackboard before class begins the day it is due and submitted on paper in class the same day. Late submissions will not be accepted except when required by university policy. SECTIONS OF THE PAPER – Your paper should follow this format and should include each of the following topics as headings in the paper: Background (250 – 300 words) – Give some general background on yourself and your experience as a learner. Be sure to include the major areas that you will be discussing in order to orient your reader! Body (1,000 – 1,100 words) – Use two theories we covered in class to discuss how you have developed as a learner. Your discussion is not limited to only formal educational contexts, but can include any area of your life in which you have developed as a learner. The only topics you should avoid are specific examples we covered in class and those that do not provide room for a deep application of the material. For example, avoid topics such as learning to drive a car or cooking a meal. When you write your paper, you should only choose one specific theory from the larger grouping of theories. For example, you may not use two different theories grouped under behaviorism. Instead, you might choose one behaviorist theory and one cognitive theory, or perhaps one cognitive theory and one social cognitive theory. And please remember, other combinations exist, so you don’t necessarily need to use the combos I have listed; just be sure the theories come from two different types. Include a summary of key concepts of the theories you discuss by integrating them into your discussion. Provide examples to illustrate when needed. Conclusion (250 – 300 words) – Summarize/Integrate key themes that emerged from your retrospective. How much of an impact did your learning experience have on your life as it currently stands? Discuss any other thoughts or impressions that emerged. Be sure to tie everything together at the end! Remember: DON’T TRY TO DO TOO MUCH IN YOUR PAPER! I want to read an in-depth analysis of one experience than a paper covering a wide range of topics.
