For this week’s Forum, respond to all of the following:   

For Discussion Forum 2, you will compare articles exemplifying opinion writing and analytical writing as characterized by Rosenwasser and Stephen in this week’s reading assignments. These articles should be related to the Topic Selection research prompt chosen for your Public Policy Research Project.

Public Policy Research Project Topic

Are recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings consistent with the Founding Fathers’ intentions for the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, and what role does the common phrase “separation of church and state” play in political discourse related to constitutional interpretation? Include in your discussion whether and/or to what extent separation of church and state is consistent with biblical principles. Historical, legal and academic sources are appropriate sources for this assignment. Popular sources or advocacy publications may be used sparingly to convey opposing sides in the contemporary debate, but do not count toward your required number of sources.

Specifics: 

• All assertions in your thread and replies must be supported by Reading & Study materials, good examples, thoughtful analysis, and additional research needed to substantively address the assigned topic. There must also be an appropriate incorporation of Judeo-Christian worldview/analysis and biblical principles. All sources must be cited in current APA format.
• Biblical integration must be included in a thoughtful manner as articulated in the required reading and presentations.
• Citations from the required reading and presentation must be included in answering the assigned questions.
